How would I make this bow out of fondant?
http://farm1.static.flickr.com/237/524823412_0967ad8aed.jpg
Please look at the fondant bow in the link above, and if you know, please advise me on the best way to make this bow. I do not have a pasta maker to thin out the fondant. Thanks so much for your help!
You can get the fondant thin enough just rolling it by hand. I have a pasta maker but it’s a total pain to use it, so I never bother. I would make the bow in four sections…first the two loops, stuffed with wadded plastic wrap so they hold their shape as they dry, then the tails, arranged on crumpled foil to give them that crinkled look. Attach the four sections to each other with melted candy coating, let harden, and then wrap with a thin piece of fondant to be the bow center. Here’s a bow I made recently: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3327/3551219869_228b0f8e0a_o.jpg I mixed a little Tylose powder into the fondant to help it dry.
