what is the benefit of a rotating waffle iron?

Im curious are the waffle irons that rotate and flip better than ones that dont and why?

Talk to Alton Brown from Food Network, he just had a show on waffle makers. He said the rotating waffle thing was useless, that cheaper plainer kinds do just as well.
