what’s the name of that air horn crank “thing” they use to alert pilots ofincoming bombers?
I saw this contraption on the program “Ba Ba-Black-sheep”. It looks like a manual meat grinder but when you crank it, it sounds off with an shrilling horn. I guess this is during the WWII era.

Yes hand cranked examples were regularly used in WW2 to warn of incoming “Air Raids”, or to signal “All Clear”. The faster you crank, the “Shriller” the sound.
