Using higher watt bulbs in a lower watt fixture?
I’ve read many post like these but I want to make sure of my answer. My car’s interior light bulbs uses 3W and 3.4W and the xenon bulbs I’m about to purchase to replace the OEM bulbs are rated at 5W. Would this be considered an overkill? Also, considering 3/3.4W vs 5W (and not ones like 60W vs 75W for lamp bulbs), what are the possible potentials (if different than lamp bulbs difference)? Thanks.
It is overkill since you will only run whatever amount of power the unit puts to the bulb. And the Xenon thing is funny since it takes special ballasts to activate true xenon light, which your interior light do not have.
