I want to take an old nautical lamp and put a working light inside?
to match my nautical themed den.Ideas how? Is it simple wiring and a light socket? Could I use the parts of an old lamp and basically have it upside down within the fixture?If the lamp is UL listed the it would be ok if I safely removed the lamp innards and replaced them inside the other lamp intact?Ideas would help greatly
It may help also to know that it would have to be a plug in hanging lamp becasue it is hanging from a wooden beam and the lamp would be hanging with a simple black chain. The receptacle is only a couple of feet away from it.
A simple wire and socket will work, use new parts. I would use the smallest type bulb to fit. You do not want 2 overheat.
