Restaurant Light Fixtures
i am selling the contents of a restaurant loaded with antiques and a bar -what’s the best way to find a buyer?

the bar is 20′ long…great victorian american. there are incerdible 600 pound Antique Light Fixtures, etc…too big for me to move or list on ebay? any advice? is there a website where i could find people that NEED things? like a “THINGS WANTED” website?

I do suggest ebay. I recently sold a vintage solid oak bar on ebay which was 16+ feet long. The guy traveled over 400 miles one way just to pick it up. You just have to say pick up only for the larger, heavy stuff (or if you have a truck and a strong back, offer delivery for a charge within a certain mile radius). Mind you, not everything always sells…but it’s a good start because ebay reaches so many people for the price that you pay to list and sell.
Another way to go is have a big sale at the location where everything is located. I’ve done this also. The key is advertising what you have. The word antiques draws in a lot of people. Restaurant equipment is a good draw too.
I personally think that listing on various websites can be a waste of time. The chances of people finding your ad is low. One other idea that I’ve never actually tried (because I tend not to trust people) is to find a local (trustworthy/reputable) auction house that deals with antiques or antique shop and see if they can sell the items for you for a commision. These people often know of buyers from all over. If you choose that route…first make a list of everything that you have and try to research their worth so that you can get a fair price. An auctioneers usual commision is 20%-30%.
Good luck to you!
