Keurig coffee too bitter?
I just got a keurig, single serve, coffee maker and the coffee is always more bitter than i would like. i have had many different coffee flavored drinks and loved the coffee flavor and the same applies to the keruig cups when i can get past the bitterness.
I have tried adding coffee-mate, milk, sugar, and salt. the salt seems to be the most effective but does not eliminate it entirely.
the coffee is brewed at 187 F. i have heard that if it is too hot it can make the coffee bitter but 187 is as low as the keurig can go.
I can change the types of coffee but other than that, everything has to be post brewing.
Thanks in advance for the help
Actually, the right temp to brew coffee is 200F +/- a few degrees. Boiling is bad, that’s why percolators are so terrible, but that low is also no good. I don’t know why they give a low temp option when the biggest complaint about auto drip machines is that many don’t get hot enough.
Put it at it’s highest setting, which I believe is around 195-200 and it should be better. It should be as good as a pod will allow.
