Is Carbon Steel OK to be used on ceramic/glass electric ranges?
I saw a rating on amazon that made me rethink buying two different woks. Someone said that they bought a certain wok specifically because they had a ceramic/glass electric range. Is are Carbon Steel, flat bottom woks OK on these stoves? I know i can’t use cast iron without a heat diffuser. So am I stuck using horrible aluminum and stainless cook ware that holds heat worse than an open flame under water? If so, can I assume that a flat bottom wok would do fine on a heat diffuser as well?
HAHA, a lot of my questions involve cooking, so in each one I have to mention that at home, I’m forced to use ceramic, and I usually say something like “demonic, soul-devouring cooktops”. Eventually I’ll find a place with gas, but until then I make do with a camping gas burner… and i even have a portable electric burner (spiral kind) They both cook better than my built in range.
I am going to be honest, I am not sure how well Carbon Steel will work, but I do know that I HATE glass top stoves. I had one in one apartment, and I will never buy one. Worst invention ever!!!
